--Dave 21:35, 31 July 2009 (UTC) It's the end of July and this trail system has yet to thoroughly dry out from the spring flooding. The trails on higher ground have been nice and dry, but anything that drops into the flood plain or near the creek level is likely still a little soft. I wouldn't say these trails are muddy, but for this late in the summer these are unusual conditions. The mosquito invasion from the spring flooding seems to be subsiding a bit, but today I was getting harassed by some voracious biting flies on the trails (I'd rather have mosquitoes than biting flies). I've only ridden out here 2 or 3 times this year and it looks like traffic overall on these trails has dropped off over the past couple of years. Subsequently some of the lesser used trails are getting overgrown and cluttered. This is a trail system that could actually benefit from some more riders (especially XC riders that would ride all the trails rather than just playing around on the same trails).
--Dave 12:27, 18 July 2008 (CDT) The zigzagging area in the floodplain in the north central part of the system has not gotten a lot of use this year so far (probably due to the frequent wet conditions we've been having) and is getting a bit hard to follow. It still has a lot of last year's leaves and twigs covering the surface of some sections, while other sections are starting to get overgrown. If you ride in Beulah, give this trail a try, because if it doesn't get some more use, it may just disappear forever.
